Another year, another Halloween.

As most of you are aware, I'm sure, as per Bongo's last blog, his spooky NPCs have returned. See his blog for more details.

On the flip side to this, Halloween outfits should be released either tomorrow or in the near future. Worry not, I will go as far as setting up an hourly reminder for Zorg to give everyone their sweet threads. Just don't try to eat them (cuz the outfits aren't actually sweet...)

Also, I'm sure most have figured this out, but the old Halloween terror, Shadress, will be plaguing us with her presence. She has since gained more power to be a threat to even the most seasoned warrior. Keep in mind she is only interested in fighting those who are supposedly "powerful." So she will only attack those who have attained Avatar status. Anyone 79 or below is safe from her wrath (unless you want to be brave and attack her first).

And shifting gears for a minute. Your favorite newbie Admins (Connor and MattG2) will be hosting a couple of events. Including:

-A spooky story corner (costume optional)
-A Halloween Costume contest (both in game and real life?)
-An Awesome Hour (potentially specifically themed for Halloween and spookiness? Undecided)

Just a brief update on double gains following our awesome Awesome Hour!

tl;dr: Tentative dates are Saturday, Sunday July 21st-22nd. If you don't hear about a change, then these are the dates that will have it active.

I've been absolutely swamped the last few weeks with irl stuff so haven't had a chance to sit down and make a post or work on anything really but just wanted to say that we had like... 30-35+ unique people join in our Awesome Hour!

The turnout was great and a huge hats off to Connor, MattG2, and everyone else involved for organizing this and getting people together. I had a great time for the duration that I was there.

As for double gains and a reduced wl re-entry timer, I was initially thinking of doing this the weekend after this one (so like Sat July 21st, Sun July 22nd) since Zorg was out this past week.
Consider these the tentative dates unless you hear otherwise (if the dates change, then you will still get advance notice don't worry).

I'll also look to see if we can get double gains into some newer parts of the game that could benefit from it but for now it'll just affect the usual stuff of job payouts, energy, exp..etc.

As for the reduced wl re-entry timer, I think this same weekend would be a good time for it but let me know your thoughts if you'd rather have that on a separate weekend?

Awesome Hour is today in less than 8 hours!

I noticed a fair number of people are confused, especially regarding EST and Daylight savings (EDT). According to initial communication, it's supposed to be at 5PM EDT (which is what I referred to as actual EST in my last post because I didn't want to confuse people but oh well ). Our in-game clock doesn't do EDT (EST + daylight savings) so it's one hour behind right now.

When the in-game clock hits 4:00 PM today, awesome hour will commence!

Awesome Hour is this Friday - July 6th, 5 PM (EST). Note: This is 5 PM actual EST (our in-game clock is 1 hour behind currently due to Daylight Savings time). In-game time, this starts 4PM EST on Friday.

It's gonna be a fun time - some of the devs will be there, prizes will be given away, and much fun will be had!

If more than 25 people show up (excluding devs), I'll do something for the game like reduced wl re-entry timer for a weekend or double gains weekend. If even more show up, I'll throw in some other goodies too
