It is that time of the year when you get free stuff.
The Advent Calendar will soon be up with lots of goodies, many old and some new, to be enjoyed by one and all!
The Winter event raid will release December 21st, Monday and will run for 2 weeks (till January 4th, 2021).
Assumably the holiday jobs will start around the same time but I'll leave that to Bongo's discretion.
As has been the case with the last few Decembers ever since the winter raid was created, there will be nothing else interesting happening this month.
Nothing at all. You will just get free stuff as usual. No credit sinks.
Nothing... at all.. ...or????

The next raid in the ongoing storyline is out now! Chapter 3 is by far the most complex, by design, that I've had to put together. It was pretty exhausting to make but I think ultimately also pretty rewarding and fun!
Hope you enjoy it
Expired cards now have a sellback price so you can sell spare ones.
In the game vote that determines the next update I'll drop, the combat sim one by a huge difference. I'll be releasing a version of the combat sim for all of you in Xen's Dojo at some point next week so look forward to that!
In other raids, Chapter 4 and SH3 will follow in the coming weeks as well

There will be a small update later in the morning that adds 2 things:
a) A basic Quests Journal
b) A way to see how strong someone is compared to you on their profile (if you have the ability: Astral Vision equipped)
The Quests Journal will initially show as empty as I'll need to do some data entry on each of the steps of various questlines. We use a lot of "quest flags" to mark the steps you take in various quests around the game (whether it's conversation-based quests or otherwise) so this is the beginning of a proper quest system to unify it and then expand upon for various updates and upcoming raids.
As for the profile strength text, depending on your simulated combat winrate against the profile you're viewing, in order of 0% to 100%, it'll tell you if they are:
almost unbeatable, incredibly strong, somewhat strong, strong, similar in might, weak, somewhat weak, incredibly weak, or completely beatable.
Combat Simulator: At some point over the next month, I'll also be releasing a basic player-friendly combat simulator into Xen's Dojo for limited use.
Raid: As for those expired cards, I'll be giving them a sellback price the moment Chapter 3: Say Hello to my Big Friend drops! So you can sell them back to the game if you don't want to use them/do chapter 3/have more than you need.
A lot of other exciting stuff coming as well
See you soon!

A new raid has been released as part of the ongoing A Hive Legacy series! Chapter 2 is out now for Level 15+. If you don't see it, please complete Chapter 1!
I paintstakingly put together a raid editor GUI, in the same vein as the other extensive WL Map Editor. It uses the new map engine I wrote for wl (and eventually the actual raid system itself will soon use this map engine).
What this means is that it's much, MUCH easier for me to build new raids. Chapter 1 took a few hours start-to-end. In the past, the same raid could've taken a lot of tedious effort over days. You will see the Hive Legacy chapters come out relatively fast between each other!
The item you receive at the end of Chapter 2 is a quest item. You cannot sell it back to the game (yet). You will need it for Chapter 3. I made this raid doable twice so you could get 2 of the same item in case it's hard to complete Chapter 3 or for w/e other reasons.
Other notes:
- Halloween npc/jobs will be going away this coming Monday (Nov 9th).
- Reminder: Double Gains will start Nov 14th, 12:01 AM EST (server time, a minute past midnight).
- Check out Kraster's raid idea in the WL & Raids forum! I'd love to hear more discussion/thoughts on it.
