An adjustment to the combat formula will be tested on dev tomorrow for roughly a week starting its rollout there.

What the formula changes is a modifier value in the armor absorption that was recently changed. The previous update's modifier was * 3/2. We'll be increasing this modifier to 7/2.

Effectively, what this means (formula's posted in the feedback thread) is that more damage will come through/less absorbed than what is now the case.

Justification for it is that it is still better than the original hard cap we had on absorption, and could allow for tighter/shorter fights while letting more damage through (i.e. void bows..etc can come thruuuu).

We will additionally be testing +10 to min and max damage on the core staff, +15 armor and +10 dskill to the DL with the adjustment tomorrow.

A lot of us on the volunteer team have been doing a lot of simming and playing around with values. Bongo has especially run the proposed changes above in depth (I can share a pastebin of his several simulations/results) and seems to provide for more balanced builds.

Our focus here was allowing for more balanced builds + tighter fights, given the current formula changes as well as not leaving behind the low damage hitters.

I hope this post explains our rationale in these changes.

Once this update has been tried, tested, discussed, and rolled out after next week, we'll look at an armor swap/exchange, among other combat related things.

Reverting things or wiping progress of over a week would've been way too devastating for this game. I think the best course of action here is to fix-forward with these changes with the best and most thoroughly tested (and beneficial) adjustments we can collectively as a team create.

Thanks for your understanding!

I have revived the in-game ticket system purely as a bug report system for devs. This lets you submit bug report/gameplay issue/development-related tickets directly to the volunteer dev team.

Community > Ticket Help!

As most of you know, volunteer devs dont have access to the HCS ticket system. Repurposing the existing, old system to be a way for you to contact the volunteer dev team directly with bugs lets us use a pretty functional and organized system to track and deal with issues.

Only use this to contact the dev team directly with bug reports. Stuff that you would normally send to staff/hcs for account, questions, or other misc issues must still go through the HCS ticket system.

If you go to ticket help now, you'll see 2 options (to help make the above clearer):

Clicking the Report a bug button will take you here:

It looks pretty similar to the old system. The only changes are:

- There's only one category: Dev Bug. Again, this system is exclusively for dev bug reports intended for volunteer devs. Anything you would want to send to staff/VH/HCS MUST go through the HCS ticket system as normal.

- The additional details field is a place for you to add relevant details like OS, Browser, version, resolution, or anything else more technical and specific. These are appended to the bottom of your ticket content when the ticket is created. It auto-detects your browser/version (if you're using Firefox/Chrome/Edge/Safari), but if it's incorrect please change or remove it.

Merry Christmas everybody!

Wanted to take this time to say a special thanks to all the Voluntary Helpers, Developers and Artists who've been working hard this year to keep Legacy moderated and updated. People regularly ask me how things are going, so I'll take this time to give a brief update.

The company is doing great, the last 2 games launched (Operation: New Earth and Warhammer: Chaos and Conquest) have been very successful and will continue to fund us in to the future. Next year they'll be starting work on a third, as yet unannounced, project. The employee count is now up to about 30 and despite almost all of us working from home the company is in a good place for the future. Due to this there is zero pressure on Legacy to make a profit / fund itself, which is good for everyone!

I've re-enabled the Christmas Cracker Platinum sale on the store and this year it should hopefully end in January, unlike last year!

Ohoy there!

New update on the way, this is the second part of the Armoury/quest expansion.

Gangs with a fully upgraded armoury will have the ability to dispatch elite guards to any wasteland square controlled by the gang.
Equipped with some of the finest apparel credits can buy, guards will fight by your side and die for your cause!

But... be strategic about how you dispatch your available guards, you'll only regain 2 per hour, op to a capacity of 10.
(Open for further expansion later down the road, but let's see how this goes first.)

However, you'll have to keep your armoury well maintained at all times, upkeep cost of 1% per day, will be automatically deducted from a random donated material.
Failure to maintain the armoury will have it falling into decay to a state where it must be repaired in order to be usable again. (Upgrades will be kept, and items won't be lost)

Yes I'm aware that'll take some time before any gang has a rank 10 amoury, so here is some teasers:
