Happy End of Summer! (Nobody cares about you guys in the Southern Hemisphere!)

I have great news! Will isn't dead! We've roped him into staying in Legacy Affairs as a new permanent member.

Huge thanks to blenok for being the sole Guide this entire time, but I think it's time that I got him some help. I've been a bit torn about what we should do with the Guide role. To see an overview of what a Guide does today, and to give your input on how we can maybe improve on the position, please check out the Suggestions forum where I've posted a thread. And please try to limit suggestions to things that won't require a ton of dev work to build out. I'd like to try and implement ideas faster if possible.

AAAAAANNNNNDDDDD Onto something that's taken me WAY TOO LONG to do. Originally, the roll out for the Astral Paint was supposed to be much sooner, but there were many things that happened irl for a few people that's keeping it away for now. As we wait for the last bit to be released, I want to continue with a promise that I made from the Anniversary Community events. The original plan was for me to give out one of the recipe items for the winners of the WW and Gambler's Hotel games. Because this has taken way too long, I have decided to instead give out a completed Astral Paint before they're obtainable. Thanks again for everyone's participation in our events.

Thanks to Will for all his hard work over the years. He tried to quit about 10 years ago and I told him he wasn't allowed, guess he finally got his way.

He will be replaced by sumwish, any issues can be directed to him. Hopefully he lasts at least a decade because I don't have a long list of potential replacements.

Greetings, everyone. Hopefully this blog message finds you well. I am here to inform the community of something that has honestly been a long time coming.

The short version is, as of this day, I will be stepping down not only as Lead Volunteer Helper but altogether as a Volunteer Helper.

I was hired all the way back in September of 2011 and have had many ups and downs when it comes to Legacy. Both with large and small issues as well as with the community itself on multiple levels. I have tried to return to the same level of activity I had many years ago, but every time I fell short. Whether because of issues in the real world requiring my attention or a few accidents that involved me not being able to do anything.

Ultimately, however, this was not the underlying reason why I just seemed to...fade into obscurity and only show up for large-scale problems. I have simply reached a point where I personally feel that I cannot properly manage the VH team or the community the way that it should be or in a way that is fair to said community. I won't bore you all with the details of what I mean. Just let the main takeaway be that I've come to the conclusion that it is time for me to officially step down and let someone else pick up that mantle. This decision isn't because of anyone in particular or issues regarding the rest of the team or HCS itself. This is 100% my decision.

Now what does this mean for my position? I have spoken to Zorg about this, and he seems to already have a plan in place for this. Of which I am sure he will be divulging and putting into place at his earliest convenience at the start of the week. I do not have specific details that I can divulge right now. Just know Zorg is aware, and he will inform you at a later time in the near future.

Just know that despite everything that has happened, the good and the bad, and despite what I might have said in the moment, I have enjoyed the opportunity to be part of the staff/VH team for 14 years. I have also enjoyed assisting everyone with issues that may have come up along the way.

It has been a long 14 years, Legacy. And I will see you guys around every now and again. But as just me.

There is a new vote up for a little feedback on the Scavenger ability. Be sure to vote. A thread will most likely be created in the Main Forum for a discussion on it.

I would also like to remind everyone of a few things.

1) I am the Lead Volunteer Helper (VH). Meaning any actions that my VH take that you feel are unjust or unwarranted should be reported directly to me via in game messages. Side chat is not the place to air out your grievances against them as that is against the HCS ToS as Staff Harassment and it will be handled as such.

2) Mods and Guides are lead by the Community Admins. In this case, Wolf and Neltharion. Anything that goes on with Mods or Guides goes to Wolf or Neltharion before me. If the person in question feels they were treated unfairly, they can just as easily come to me and ask me to look into something.

3) The conduct on side chat is progressively getting worse. This is due to things not being reported. My VH and myself cannot be on 24/7. That is why all 5 of us have an "open message box" type of policy. We have no problems handling a situation that is deemed inappropriate, whether it be abuse, harassment, or just flat out toxic behavior.

Please keep these things in mind for in the future.
