The reason I did not post any detailed plans below is because I'm going to try to run as many ideas past the Elders before implementing them now. If you are an Elder you would do well to check your forums regularly as ideas may go from concept to implementation in a day or two.
First change, coming soon is the removal of the current attack system. Replacing it with a new javascript based system that will process attacks for you, so they'll no longer be split page by page. Instead you will load in to a single page during an attack and see the fight process scroll down. Basically going back to the old system with a few modern tweaks to stop it crippling the server.
As for warfare, this system will be wrapped around the current warfare system. So you'll be able to attack from the warfare page without ever leaving or reloading.

It's been a long six months as far as Legacy goes, quite possibly the longest of my life. I've been back and forth over so many ideas from new games, rebuilds to packing in the lot and doing something else with my life (I got half way through writing that blog).
My efforts on Legacy have failed. Four years of work has yielded little growth, so was there any point? I never had dreams of being rich or explosive success, but I'd like my work to have counted for something more.
I think rebuilding core systems is the right idea, but was taken to a crazy extreme. In absence of wanting to start a new project from scratch my ideas changed to trying to turn Legacy in to something it never was.
So forget my previous blogs and forget my plans. I'm still going to rebuild Legacy but I'm going to rebuild it the way it always should have been.

Lots of little green plants are now occupying Legacy as account shrubbing has come in to practice. Basically instead of banning accounts pending deletion accounts can now be shrubbed, which will allow them to login, make a ticket, send messages to staff, but nothing else for 30 days after which they'll be deleted. We cleared out all the old jailed players so that list should be short and useful again now.
Although I'm pressing on with the new combat system, it looks like it may be further away than I'm willing to wait so advertisements have started again in full force on our top 100 sites, facebook and other places.
I'm also re-evaluating some of the changes listed before in the rebuild to try and limit the impact on current players. Things like assigning stat points as you level are going to be simplified but will remain.

The smilies system has been reworked, smilies sorrounded by silly { and } brackets have been removed. All smilies that include words are now sorrounded by a single colon either side. I had to remove a couple of smilies like the 83 smiley, as that clearly wouldn't work in this new system.
Also the regex that replaces smilies in text has been improved and will now only inject smilies if the smiley in question does not have an alphanumeric character on either side of it. So you will not get a smiley in the middle of silly words like ExDeath anymore!
