I've just done a small update that makes items record the time they hit level 5 in to a hidden field. I'm now running a competition to see who can get each type of item to level 5 first. The types will be Melee Weapon, Gun, Projectile, Armor and Misc item.
World first in each category will receive 5,000 platinum and a free set of 5 spray paints of their choice. In order to claim the prize you must message me in game when you think you've achieved world first, records will be checked and prizes will be given out accordingly.
Good luck!

That is the item experience update done and I just want to clarify some parts of it that I didn't mention in the past blog.
All experience can be earned on both attack and defense. If you score a double hit both weapons will earn experience, if only one weapon hits only that weapon will earn experience. Armor earns experience whenever it takes a hit. Misc items earn experience whenever you earn warfare points through combat, attack or defense.
An items stats can be seen by clicking 'View Item' in inventory or clicking it in the market / profiles, you cannot currently search the market by level but that will come later.
The items experience is shown as a bar at the bottom of its bigger image, along with its level in the circle to the right. The actual numbers can be seen using the method above as per feedback to yesterdays blog.
Have fun and let me know if you think anything else should be changed.

The 'Item Experience' update is now live on the Development server as per the road map. It is slated to go live tomorrow if everything is working. Items start at level 1 with 0 experience as shown in the bar at the bottom of the item. Items gain experience depending on their type.
- Weapons gain 1 point of experience by hitting a player or NPC (that grants experience) for damage.
- Armor gain 1 point of experience by being hit for damage.
- Misc items gain 1 point of experience for each Warfare Point earned (in combat).
To get to level 2 and item must earn 4500 experience. Then 9000, 18000 and 36000 respectively with experience resetting to 0 each level up. These numbers may all be tweaked before release tomorrow.
Feedback is welcome, let me know what you think but be sure to check the road map in full before replying.

We have now moved Legacy to its new home at DigitalOcean and behind Cloudflare. I've enabled a ton of optimizations through Cloudflares Pro plan that should make the site load a lot quicker for some people.
Let me know if you encounter any bugs or problems as a result of this move.
