Been a while since my last blog post, so here goes. The casino achievements will be coming to Legacy tonight at 5pm (EST) server time. Most of them have been tested on Dev, but some could not be. So report any bugs you find via tickets.
Also with this update comes a top 10 weekly 'tokens earned' list, much like the other weekly lists it grants both a badge and banner to those who get in it. Tokens given to you daily or purchased with credits will not count towards it, it is simply a record of how much you won or lost in a week playing the various games. Interestingly you can finish the week with a negative value if you lose a lot.
No achievements will be back dated, so you'll have to earn them all.

Just got back from a LAN party, been away for like 5 days. Getting back in to working on Legacy now, so expect lots of bug fixes and updates in the next few days. For those not in the Elders the next update will be the addition of casino achievements, followed shortly by the new attack system! Both will need extensive testing on Dev before going live.
Legacy Affairs is being reformed by the Elders and I just got done judging the Flag contest. Results for that will be up tomorrow!

So I've been looking at the vote results and it is pretty much a 50:50 split, not only in total but between votes from level 80 avatars and votes from non-avatars. Now I'm supposed to make a decision and yet have no more of an idea what would be best than you guys have.
The only conclusion I can draw is that the vote was inconclusive because both options represent extremes. Removing the level cap completely would not work anymore than leaving the level cap in place has. I'll start a thread in suggestions where you can post your suggested alternatives.
Right now the most solid idea I can see is some sort of prestige system, allowing players to level from 1 to 80 over and over if they wish. The hard part with that would be determining a reward that is good enough to make people want to do it, yet not so good as to make avatars feel as if they have to do it.

Today, I have turned off register_globals in PHP. For those of you who don't know what this is you can find tons of stuff on Google about it. Back when I learned PHP in 3.0 it was accepted coding practice to use, after a string of security issues it became bad practice. Now in PHP 6.0 they plan to remove it completely.
I haven't coded anything with it for years but many old systems like Clans relied heavily on it. This has all been changed in recent updates. We were never directly affected by any security issues stemming from this feature but they were there, and had this game been open source they would have no doubt been exploited.
I have had it turned off on Dev now for a couple of weeks and all issues we found were fixed. No doubt we will of missed some things though. If you find any problems on main please report them in a ticket.
