Legacy is 18 years old now so seems like as good a time as any to do a general update on the state of things. It's been many years since I did so there is quite a bit to catch up on I guess. I'll start with the most relevant things.
Legacy is still, after 18 years, running at a profit. It only costs about $1,200 USD per year to run the server so it's not a major expense. Even if it didn't generate any revenue though I'd keep it running regardless as I've grown quite attached to it. I see we still had 230 players login last week so that's nice to see. Thanks to everyone who still plays and a special thanks to all the volunteers who keep it running.
Hunted Cow Games recently got a re-brand to orange. It's also still running at a profit with the majority of our revenue now coming from Operation: New Earth and Warhammer: Chaos and Conquest. We now have about 40 employees (mostly artists) and we're currently hiring a couple of Junior Unity Developers. Almost everybody is working on our 3rd game in the build and battle series which is essentially a re-skin under a new (but still secret) intellectual property.
In the company I now head up the programmers as the CTO. Day to day I'm working on the PHP based server-side for the games, keeping the older 2 running while adding features for our newest project.
My free time is split between family stuff, training Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (that I started about 4.5 years ago) and working on a personal game project called Star Vortex that is a single player ARPG I'm making in Unity, mostly in the evenings and week-ends (https://zorguk.itch.io/star-vortex). There are no deadlines on this project, it'll be finished whenever it is finished.
Beyond that everything is going fine. My family is doing well and my daughter turned 3 years old in April. Hope you all have a good anniversary!

"She's 3 now huh? That's nice. At least a decade away from potentially introducing her to your first child. Not sure if you'd want to do that to her though. "
