I will be releasing a new raid shortly called The Ritual. With the release of the new raid, I introduce to you public events.
In a public event raid, everyone joins the same raid instance and participates together in order to complete the objective of the raid.
The system currently works as follows:
The last one is meant to be one measure (out of a couple that I'm still thinking about) to prevent people from joining in last second/not putting effort in. One issue that still exists, however, is that a person could join and just be inactive during. I am still working this out as every raid is different so it requires different solutions.
The Ritual (Lv. 75+) will be the first public event raid. In many ways, this also serves as a test of the multiplayer as well as a precursor to true private multiplayer raids with small parties.
I have put in a lot of time/effort to get this here over the last week/week and a half. Undoubtedly, as with any Aldo updates, there can and will be kinks. I'm continuing to work on it so that we can also have true private multiplayer raids.
I'm also working on some other exciting stuff that I'll share soon. It does not have any short-term impact yet but long-term, it will be great for the game.
Other than that,
have fun!
In a public event raid, everyone joins the same raid instance and participates together in order to complete the objective of the raid.
The system currently works as follows:
- Every public event has only once instance that everyone joins.
- The public event is reset every 30 minutes.
- You can do another raid before/after participating successfully in a public event one within the same 30 minute tick.
- You cannot, however, repeat the same public event within its cooldown period.
- Damage against NPCs by multiple players is tracked so that everyone gets a (weighted, based on contribution) shot at NPC drop tables, if any.
- Public events can be locked from being joinable by new players or by players in the raid who die past a certain point.
