The new map is finished, it is a little plain but that is a combination of the huge amount of open building space it has and the fact it is a desert. I've kept the layout matching the tactical overview provided a few days ago exactly.

Some people have expressed interest in why 4 sides of the hive have different terrain, apart from the obvious fact it adds more variety you must understand that the hive is the size of a US state and there are spaces between each of the 4 quadrants.

The south-west is the sewage outlet for the hive so is polluted, the south-east sorrounds an active volcano, the north-east is in the arctic circle so is frozen over and the north-west is also in the arctic circle but is subject to a huge hole burnt in the o-zone layer from the hives polution.

The new map goes live at midnight tonight and will remain in play for 3 months after which we will be going back to the south-west possibly with some extra changes.

So, few changes coming on April 1st. This is the first draft for the North West quadrant, obviously just a tactical overview for now with the usual color coding. Not sure yet what the central objective will be but it will not be something that gives an advantage over warfare itself.

Also as of April 1st we intend to start offering exposure removal at a price from our hospital. Possibly with some exposure healing item drops being added to hunting. We haven't decided on price yet be it in warfare points or credits. Anyway link to tactical view of north west quadrant below.

As stated before the HQ starting positions will be fixed, the ability to undeploy and move them will be removed for this 3 month period.

Just switched my operating system to Windows 7, still adjusting to the change. Got lots of software that still needs to be re-installed right now but the essentials are done. So far it looks pretty good, still remains to be seen if it has the same stability issues Vista had though.

The rough draft for the next warfare map will be up in a few days time. As stated previously it will have 4 symmetrical islands with fixed HQ positions, giving no gang an upper hand based on movement or position. Objectives have yet to be decided, more news on that later.

Yeah. just to answer some concerns. I'm not stopping work on Legacy to work on Vortex. All that is happening right now is I'm trying to get the project off the ground which is more of a one person job. Once all the core stuff is in place I'll be able to leave Aldo and Binime to work on it and come back.

The main work on Vortex may take another month or so but once that is done I'll be splitting my time more equally. The suggestion each week thing will pick up again later, maybe next week depending on time. I'm away now for 4 days at epic.LAN and then at a paintball tourney on the Sunday. More news when I get back.
